McCOOK Neb. - North Platte resident Jim Dodds claimed the ‘Best in Show’ award at the McCook Art Guild's 2024 Spring photo show, with his piece titled "Airport Sunset". Dodds, a retired individual passionate about photography, has been honing his skills behind the lens for over a decade.
In addition to his crowning achievement with "Airport Sunset," Dodds showcased his diverse talent by securing third place for his compelling work "Nectar Delight" and grabbing the second spot with "Pronghorn Portrait". His exceptional pieces stood out among the impressive entries at the contest.
While Dodds basked in the glory of his well-deserved victory, other notable winners included Shelly Berndt, who claimed the first-place position with "Wide View Bridge," and Gene Puruss, recognized with an honorable mention for "Duck Hunt".
Dodds' journey into photography began over a decade ago when he started taking pictures for a website dedicated to the dogs he raised.
